IDEAS FOR A SCI-FI GAME
ASTEROID COLLECTING REMOVING OXYGEN AND ANOTHER COMPONENTS TO MAKE FUEL FOR SHIP
You the player will play as a ship collecting asteroid for fuel and another resource that can be used for the fuel or to make money
CONTROL DROVE TO GO TO PLANETS AND GET PART FOR FUEL ON EACH ONE WILL BE UPGRADING THEME TO MAKE THEM BETTER
This idea is more of an idle tycoon that'll only show what it takes to get fuel from different resource
CONTROL DRONE TO SCAN PLANETS, MOON AND ASTEROID TO FIND ANY FORM OF FUEL OR POWER SOURCE TO KEEP THE STATION GOING
This idea is more refined for STEM than some of the others this idea would have the player as a drone that has to gathers resource to re-fuel and to resupply
A SPACE STATION LOW ON FUEL AND POWER USES DROVE TO COLLET ANY RESOURCE SO IT CAN TO RE-POWER AND RESUPPLY THE FUEL
This idea is almost the same thing to the one above but this is where there are more than one drone but the station is a main point in both since it use the fuel to make power and power can be use to charge the drone or to make more fuel from resources

I have created a survey to get information on my idea from others they all were within the target audience and this will give me a more refined idea of what I'll make for the project brief.
From the survey's reply, I have chosen to do the 3rd option because it was the one that came out on top in a 3D format for the project.

WHICH IDEA DO YOU THINK IS BEST?
From this the first idea had a more people who chose it so this tell me that it may be a good thing to create something for collecting asteroid

From what the people tell me I can use this to see what aspect of the idea they like and keep it

Because green was chosen and it was the game mechanic and I don't have very good skill in make game mechanics I'll do the next thing on the survey that was second but since 3D and pixels are in second and I have more skill in making model this will help in making the fast and on the deadline
From this I can build the base for the project by writing the proposal saying the my asset will be

PROPOSAL
The idea that I going to make is a 3D sci-fi ship drone from the servery that came out on top, I'll use Autodesk Maya to create the model since I'm confident in my 3D skill making the model.
Thing that I'll have to consider when make the model is how many poly I'm using, how many layer texture and how big the final file size is or the size of the model itself.

COLOUR DESIGN BOARD
From the survey, I ask what colour would be a good one to use and I got a mixture of different colours and I pick out the ones that stand out or was the most common from the responses
There were two colours that I chose from other and three that I chose the base on my mood board and the survey because some of the responses were types of colours like the dark colour and light colour
With colour theory, I can find the best way to use these colour to make my model look sci-fi and make look charging as possible
CONCEPT DESIGN
Rough concept
This is the first version of my drone ship I draw the design on paper I look at it again and I didn't like it because it looked more like a racing ship than a ship that could collect asteroids
And so I created three other ship design that is more fitting to what I wanted and keeping them fit with the sci-fi
When I was drawing this design I could see where I can improve it to fit more of the mood board and I thought of how I was going to put some part on to the next concept
IMPROVED CONCEPT
These are improved version of the rough design after considering on how to make look like something that can move astroid and still be useful I made three design but by using the first design nightmare I created two more that are the opposite of each other this made make each design quick and easy since all the layer were the same on creating them
Nightmare
This concept was made after the rough concept I used photoshop to sketch out a rough base and then use the line tool to make the design cleaner if I were to put this design in a box the box would be a size 1150 x 500 x 500 this would be a big ship because of its thickness
The back story of this design would be:
The nightmare a heavy battle prototype class well know for several feats and are very troublesome to come by this model was a number threateneth class number but it was the first one and last of its class for the war was done before any were mass-manufactured but the prototype was reperused for astroid collection
Winter
This concept was made from Nightmare and I warp and move the parts that I had created to make a different ship that is more of a stealth version of battle class nightmare
The blurb for this design is that this ship was find on a ice planet that was unliveable for thousand of years and this is one of the recreated design base of the relic ship
Blaze
This concept was made from Nightmare and I warp and move the parts that I had created to make a different ship that is more of a speed version of the battle class nightmare
The blurb for this design is that an asteroid Famer find a damaged ship and fixed it to be an asteroid ship
SURVEY
With this survey, this will tell me what the target audience think of my three design for a model and this also tell me which one will most likely be made for the extension of the project
WHICH DO YOU LIKE
With this, I can now see that winter is something that I will be made but this can change with one of my questions but from this, I see that the target audience did like my other design so this tells me that the design were fitting for the brief
WHY IS THIS ONE GOOD
From this info, I can see what part of my design they like and I can see what part needs more focus on when I make it

From this, I now know that for sure my model will be the winter design of the drone ship and this also tells me that a lot of people didn't like the nightmare design but also that some didn't like the others as well but from this, I can subtract it from the first question to know what they come if I didn't want to make the winter design
WHY IS THIS BAD
This info point out what part of the design need to be rework when creating the model and this also give me intel on what the target think of the design

DO YOU THINK THE COLOUR PALETTE WOULD WORK WELL?
With this bit of info, I can understand what the target audience think of the colour that is going to be used on the model
PROGRESS
With this model, I'll be using the box shape to make everything for the project this is to speed up the progress of the model make and to make sure that this model can reach the deadline on time
The tools that I use in Maya the most to creating this model were:
-Move
-Rotation
-Mirror
-Combined
-Marge
-Duplicate
-clone
-Extrude
-cut and line
Each part will be put on is win layer to make it easy to put every this that has a plug this make sure that they are in right place and by the end of this model the whole object will be connect together to make it easier to be put into unreal
The file type I'll be using will be an Fbx file so that I can get the model on to unreal and have it for a video and in a simple game
With the hull of the ship, I started with a box and used my image of winter and morph a box to the shape of it and then use the move tool to make a more detailed shape
After I had the hull I then created the battery and the glass in the same way that I made the hull starting with a box and using the move tool to morph it to the shape to what I need it to be but with the flash I had to use the line and cut tool to make the diamond texture that is the sam to image 2 on the mood board
With the front landing leg I made two-part dor it out of boxes and marge them together and like the first part I use the move tool through the creation of the leg and then I mirror it onto the other side
After I made the leg I did some more work to make the model so far to match the design a little better and I change the legs to be connect and after doing this think this is better than what it was before connecting it
The back leg was not easy to make for I had to use the textured tool and make I bend at one point but with the front and back legs it's its own thing that sits within the model
The little fins at the front above the glass were made by the use of a mirror
The engine was the hardest part of the model since I had to make sure they fitted on the hull of the body and were not clash with each other I angled each one with a different angle to make them fit nicely with each other
With this engine model, I use the first engine and the second engine clon both of them and removed parts of it and started to put the point that could be marge together and after that, I move some point and rotated some to get the last engine
With the back legs, I add a claw to them though as you can see by the two little prongs sticking out the front of the legs this is to make the back legs look like the ones on the concept

This is the final model with each part in its place I have made all the UV part that I need to up into photoshop to make this model more colour full and least dull for the final part of the project
FINALISING
This part will be the all of the prevision work adding up to the final of the project this will have the model coloured and the model put in unreal
This the UV templates that I use for the texture of the model for the project I use the automatic on the Maya UV editor I would say that I could have done better to the UV but I want to be quick on getting them so I use the auto UVshell system and it was okay for me but I wish I could have it better
I then saved them as a PNG so that I could put them on photoshop and start using the colour board to make my texture I named each UV to the part they are so when I put them in photoshop I could make a mistake on which one was which

The way that I used these Is that I had one layer as a base colour and another to be a smart layer that has the same colour as the base but this layer will be 50% see able I use at most three filters to create one each one but if there need to bee a different coloured this would be brushed on the base layer since that layer was the coloured base and the layer that had the filter on it was the texture layer
Here is the UV's final edit on unreal to make them look more detailed and more suited for the video that will be showing the final model in colour and this may also be inputted in the sample game but I may just put the texture but not edit it for the sample game

This is a sample game that used the free temple the flying game creation in the unreal engine I remove the model to use for the game but replace it with the model that I created for this project this would show what I think my model would run like if the company chose to put my 3D asset into a game for STEM
MY THOUGH ON THE PROJECT
This project was a very exp event I learn how a game asset create would work if they had a deadline of five-week though this five-week I wish I could have done more for this project and put more time into designing and creating the asset for the project but with this, I have to be a little braver in the work and in what I bring to the table when I work in a real game company
Another thing I wish I did more was asked for advice on a certain area of the project and or part of making the model
